The original Knights of the Old Republic is still a fantastic game, if a bit dated, but the KOTOR Switch port's untimely announcement exemplifies just how far Nintendo's hardware is lagging behind the rest of the industry.
Only weeks before, a complete remake of KOTOR was revealed for PlayStation 5 and PC. Among the many announcements and trailers at the September 2021 Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republicis being ported to Switch.
